Information for Nursery Parents

Dear Parent/Carers,

2020 Nursery Starting Plan

I am pleased to be able to share with you the plans we are proposing for welcoming you and your child to Lakeside Primary School from September 2020. The past few months have been extremely challenging and trying to plan for next year while ensuring everyone remains safe has been difficult. However, this is how we are going to support your child beginning their education with us.

We are aware that many of our Nursery children may not have been back to Nursery since March or even experienced a Nursery setting before so we are planning on a phased return for our pupils. This is to help ease their way into learning. The proposed time table will look like this:

*Please note that if you have only booked for a Morning session you can still collect at 11:30am from the main school office.

The stay and play sessions will require parents remaining with their children during these periods. This is so they can become familiar with the surroundings while also having the security of a family member with them. We know this could be an anxious time for you all so we hope this transition will enable you to get to know the school and more importantly, the Nursery staff more. Over the next couple of weeks, Miss Collins (Nursery Nurse) shall be in touch with you further to confirm which group your child has been placed in for the transition dates above.

Attached with this letter you will find a Frequently Asked Question sheet that you may find useful as well as a couple of information documents that explain what a typical day in Nursery will look like. Please share this with your children as it will give them the opportunity to have an idea of what to expect before they start in September. I should also state that while these plans have been put in place, we are still awaiting further guidance from the Government regarding what school will look like in September. When this is released, if we need to make changes, we shall be in touch with you to inform you of these. In the meantime, if you have any further questions, please feel free to email or phone on the contact details below stating in the subject box Reception or Nursery depending on you enquiry:

I am so looking forward to meeting you all properly after the Summer holidays and getting to know you all.

Yours sincerely,

Mr N. Probert
