Year 5 (Badgers)

Year 6 (Swans)

As you will see from the table above we are also going to name the year groups after different woodland creatures. Since wider opening to Reception, Year 1 and Key workers in June we have really enjoyed naming the different ‘bubbles’ after colours so have decided to continue the theme of naming the classes other than their year group. We hope you will like the new class names as much as we do.

This year has been by far the most difficult I have had to face since beginning my career in education in 2006 and I could not have done this without the support of parents, governors and staff. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work this year and for supporting all the pupils in their learning. The teachers have worked relentlessly to provide an education whether that be remotely or in school and the whole staff have been model professionals. We are lucky to have a dedicated team of individuals who always go that extra mile to ensure our pupils fulfil their potential. Because of this, it is so hard to say a couple of ‘goodbyes’.

The 17th July 2020 will see us say goodbye to Miss Varden who has spent over 6 years at Lakeside. During that time, she has become a highly valued member of the teaching staff who has worked tirelessly for the pupils in her class. She is a fantastic teacher and we are certainly going to miss her organised and dedicated approach to teaching. Miss Varden is a stunning practitioner and I am deeply sad to see her go. I wish to thank her personally for all her efforts while she has been part of the Lakeside Family. She has always worked with the utmost professionalism and I wish her all the best for the future. I know that while the decision to leave has been really difficult, the new opportunity that she embarks on now will give her the flexibility she craves to support her career as well as her family. We will all miss you Miss Varden but once a Lakesider, always a Lakesider and you will be welcome back any time!

It is also with regret we have to say goodbye to Miss Solis and Mrs Baker in their roles as Personal Welfare Support Assistants. Both have been a huge support to pupils on a one-to-one basis for over the past two years. Without the support of both of these caring individuals, the children they have helped would not have the opportunities they do now to succeed. They shall be missed and I would like to extend my thanks and best wishes to them both.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr N. Probert
