The Governing Board of Lakeside Primary School (part of Mercia Primary Academy trust) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed member to our Lakeside Teaching Assistant team.
Governors want to appoint a highly motivated practitioner, who will embrace our inclusive and creative philosophy and help us further develop an environment where our vision of ‘Learning Together, Success Forever’ can be embedded with all pupils.
The successful candidate will join a dedicated and hardworking team of teachers and TAs in an innovative, creative and supportive school with the most inspirational children. The successful candidate will work under the direct instruction of teaching staff with support from the Senior Leadership team. You will provide general support to the teacher in the care of pupils and management of the classroom but also in a 1:1 capacity. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Support to pupils:
- Supervise and support students, ensuring their safety by complying with good Health & Safety practice.
- Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
Support to Teacher:
- Undertake routine administrative tasks e.g. pupil record-keeping as requested.
- Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate.
- Appropriate liaison with parents on general pupil matters.
Support to Curriculum:
- Support pupils to understand instructions in relation to the curriculum
- Attend training sessions as required for Safeguarding purposes and ensure appropriate skill level is
obtained to undertake the role, e.g. behaviour management strategies.
Support to School:
- Be aware and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, Health and Safety, security, confidentiality, data protection and report all concerns to the appropriate person
- Ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
